The Portuguese tax system is made up of a set of state and local taxes levied principally on income, property ownership and expenditure. Individuals, whether resident or not, need to understand what aspects of taxation affect them and in which country such taxes are payable.
Although we are not practising tax accountants, we have produced a comprehensive guide based on the Association of International Life Offices report, which serves as a very good general overview of the current tax laws.
